ARTS serves the whole community, increasing mutual understanding among the diverse peoples of the Lower East Side. In cooperation with other neighborhood groups, ARTS offers workshops, performances, and exhibitions, giving seniors a chance to express themselves in ways familiar from their youth, and introducing traditional arts to the young. Through performances such as the Butterfly Lovers at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, ARTS brings the cultures and traditions of the Lower East Side to audiences in New York City and beyond.
